Service Faq

Appointment

Do I need to make an appointment prior to going in the salon?
Yes, since we focus on customization of service and treatment, we would like to ensure that you receive our full attention and care when you come in. Calling in advance to secure a spot is highly recommended.

Service/Treatment

What services do you suggest for my first visit?
For your first visit to the POLA KIREI Salon, we suggest you schedule a KIREI Signature Facial which consists of the following:
  1. One-on-one detailed skin Consultation and full Skin Analysis with our highly trained professionals.

  2. Customized facial treatment and products.

  3. After treatment care program.

We are here to fully understand your skin, your concerns and your needs, and provide the most up-to-date treatment, relaxing service and customized products best suited for your needs.
I would like to schedule my first facial with POLA. What can I expect?
Upon your arrival, you will be accompanied by one of our highly trained Beauty Advisors. Your Beauty Advisor will conduct your Consultation and Skin Analysis to help identify the best treatments and products to treat your skin. She will also make you aware of any extra charges associated with additional services that you may request.
What kind of treatments and services do you have?
All of our customized services, treatments and products are featured in detail on our services page, or you may contact us for more information at 310-247-0063. We will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
How long do the treatments last?
For you first visit, please expect to be with us for two hours for a thorough Consultation, Analysis and Treatment.
Do I need to bring any skincare/makeup products or tools with me?
You do not need to bring anything on your first visit to our salon. Your beauty advisor may request that you to bring your skincare products on your second visit to fully analyze your homecare regimen and give you the appropriate advice. As for makeup, we provide disposable products that you are welcome to use, or you can of course bring your own makeup.
Can I get a facial treatment if I have a severe skin condition?
This depends on the type and severity of your condition. If you are currently under the care of a dermatologist or using prescriptive skincare, we suggest that you talk to your doctor before scheduling any skin treatment.
What if I have irritation after the treatment?
Since POLA treatments and products are customized for your skin, you shouldn't experience any discomfort. If you do, please feel free to contact your Beauty Advisor, who will assist you in every way to find the best solution.
What happens after my customized facial treatment?
What makes POLA unique is our follow up. We have created a unique "Care Program" to help with between-facial protection. You will receive a personalized product pack after your treatment that includes products chosen specifically by your Beauty Advisor to keep your skin beautiful. We are always available if you have any questions about your recommended regimen.

POLA ID-skin System (Skin Test)

Can I do the skin test myself?
Our skin test is one of the most important steps in finding out your skin type, concerns and needs. It will be performed by our trained Beauty Advisor to accurately acquire the correct information.
What exactly is the skin test and how does it work?
Our skin test is quick and easy. First we delicately lift loose cells on the skin's surface from your cheek using our non-invasive, undetectable method called "stratum checking". We then process your skin sample in our scientific database, which includes more than eight million skin patterns, to determine your skin's current texture, type, how easily wrinkles form, water retaining ability, protection ability, discoloration sensitivity, and inclination to oiliness. We also use a special light instrument to further find out about skin texture and pigmentation.
Do I have to remove my makeup when I do the skin test?
We will need to remove any makeup on your cheek before conducting your skin test. We use a makeup remover that is designed for the POLA ID-skin System.
What happens after the skin test?
After your skin is analyzed utilizing the POLA ID-skin System and Consultation, your Beauty Advisor will review your test results with you, and provide you with a copy of the results with your customized product sample set. She will answer any questions you may have, and customize your facial treatment.

Attire

What should I wear?
We will provide you with a robe and slippers and a locker for your belongings before you enter the lounge area. We ask that you remove your shoes, and you may remove all of your clothing or wear your underwear under your robe… whichever is the most comfortable for you. You will always be covered with a sheet or towels during your treatments.

Locker Rooms

What if I am not comfortable putting my personal belongings in my locker?
Our management staff would be happy to keep valuables under guard while you have your treatments.

Contact Lenses

What do I do with my contact lenses?
We have a general purpose saline solution available in our locker room, so you may remove your contact lenses pre-treatment.

Applying Makeup After Facial

Can I put on makeup after a facial?
Yes, you may apply makeup after your facial, as it does not cause any post-facial clogging. If you would like to apply makeup, our VIVOKE makeup line is fabulous!

Tipping

How much should I tip?
Leaving gratuities for work well done seems to be the norm, but of course, is optional. Most tips range from 15%-20% of the price of the service provided.
